Sarah Prout Named Next Executive Director of the Downtown Development Association

The Downtown Development Association (DDA) is excited to announce the hiring of Sarah Prout as executive director of the DDA. Prout is a native of Aitkin, MN and is a University of North Dakota graduate. She has served in various marketing positions including most recently for Cabela’s and Construction Engineers.

“We are thrilled to have Sarah join us in leading our organization,” said Matt Norby, president of the board for the DDA. “We have made great strides over the last two years and Sarah has the background, passion, and drive to keep us moving forward.”

In addition to organizational management and operations, Prout will lead current projects including Art & Wine Walk, Blues on the Red, Downtown Street Fair, HollyDazzle Festival of Lights, and the Town Square Ice Skating Rink.

“I am honored to be a part of such an energetic group who truly believes in the growth and vision of what our downtown has to offer,” said Prout. “The continued development and opportunities are endless and I look forward to working with city and community leaders, as well as the board to continue the enhancement of the downtown experience.”

Prout will begin her position as executive director on August 1.

The GFDDA’s vision is a downtown that is stable and growing; encourages economic development and business diversity; is walkable and pedestrian friendly; and is safe and clean. This is a downtown in which business, residents and visitors can take pride, visit frequently, and use to its fullest potential.
